How Does Google Work?

  •  Googlebots (spiders) crawl the Web searching for Web Pages

  •  A computer program extracts every word on the Web Pages & creates a database of words linked back to the pages*

  •  Higher rank given to pages with search terms near each other and in the same order

[*Notes: All words converted to lower case.  More weight is given to words in larger fonts, in titles, in section headings or in links]
