  • Numbering system using only 0 and 1.

  • An Internet search engine

Googol

  • The number 10^100 (1 followed by 100 zeros)

Hypertext

  • A term coined by Ted Nelson around 1965 for a collection of documents (or "nodes") containing cross-references or "links" which, with the aid of an interactive browser program, allow the reader to move easily from one document to another.

Hypertext-Matching Analysis

  • A method used by Google that analyzes page content.  It uses the full content of a page and factors in fonts, subdivisions and the precise location of each word.  [From the Google site]

Link

  • More correctly, a Hyperlink - a link from a hypertext file to another location or file; typically activated by clicking on a highlighted word or icon at a particular location on the screen 

PageRank

  • The main factor in Google uses to determine the order of pages on the results list.

URL - Uniform Resource Locator

  • The address for a web page on the World Wide Web
